The Last Resort by Palmiotti, Gray & Caracuzzo

I just wrapped up reading The Last Resort by Palmiotti & Gray with art by Giancarlo Caracuzzo. Have you ever seen that seminal Christmas classic, Elf (that’s right, I called it a Christmas Classic)? There is a scene where Peter Dinklage’s character, Miles Finch says “a farm book would just be white noise.” That’s how I feel about zombie books. Yes, The Walking Dead is awesome. Kirkman is a genius. Love those books. But everything else, well, it seems to come up short. Marvel Zombies? Get outta here with that. As for this book, it is white noise, but it’s fun white noise. It doesn’t take itself too seriously and the artwork is great. The cover is what pulled me in. I was really hoping this was going to be a crazy cannibal, deserted island book, and was pretty let down when I saw zombies instead. It’s a fun read, though. If you can get it for cheap, like the copies thill70 is selling, it’s worth picking up. As for me, I’ll be digging back into Jonah Hex.
